A Game of Bloody Hearts

Chapter 2- The Destined Dagger

Winter took all of her self control to start screaming at the man, her deep blue eyes widened.
“Boarding school?” Winter questioned.
“Well, here’s the acceptance letter. I wrote down all of your abilities and they select a house for you based on your abilities.” He said and handed her the paper.
Winter went upstairs with the paper. She began to read.
Dear Winter Penhollow,
Based on your abilities sent to me from your uncle you have been accepted into the “Blue House.” The Blue House is home to many talented young artists. The House specializes in the arts, from drama, to drawing, dancing and instrumental music.
We shall be providing you a taxi service to the fact that you arrived in the middle of the quarter and you shall not be able to use our train service.I hope you enjoy your semesters with Ace Academy for Talented Youth. It shall be a pleasure having you.
We hope you enjoy learning and a school supply list is attached to this letter.
Sincerely,
Headmistress Young
She almost throw the paper down in frustration. There was barely any information regarding this school. It was just so general. She sighed, She supposed today, she had to go shopping. It told her to go to a certain store called “Charlie’s Store of Finery.” Fredrick walked in the door.
“So do you want to go?” He questioned. She simply nodded and the whole car ride was silent. She still found her life unsettling and confusing. Not knowing how it would turn out. Sometimes, she wished the tunnel weren’t so dark so she could see the light at the end. That life didn’t have to be so dark. She sighed and thanked her uncle for the ride.
The shop was small and quaint and very, warming and welcoming. She took a deep breath of the air, it smelled like cinnamon? That was how her aunt’s house used to smell. She felt in a trance in this nice little shop. There were so many queer little things in the shop like small dragon sculptures and handmade necklaces.
“Hello, I am Charlie!” A voice called out. An elderly man with a tuft off white hair, an apron and oversized glasses. He looked like my grandfather from Europe. He very much reminded her of him. It comforted her. She liked this shop, it was very nice.
“Hm, wait don’t tell me..your going to the school right? Blue house?” He speculated and walked back with her.
“How did you know!” She exclaimed surprised. This man whose name was Charlie. She couldn’t trust strangers this easily. She couldn’t let alone make a single friend.
“Well, your Rosalyn’s little nephew, right? You have her eyes. She stopped by here a lot, she even went to your school! I suspected you would be in the same house are her.” He said.
Her aunt went to this school!? She felt a little burst of happiness to go here. It was like she was living her aunt’s lost dreams and having her watch over her life at her school. Well, she wished her aunt were here to help her get used to the new school. Friends weren’t her strength and her aunt was so nice. She always felt that her aunt were opposites but they had a relation. The arts of course.
“Yes.” She said proudly.
Charlie helped Winter get all her supplies and they chatted about life. This man was an easy relatable person. Winter only wished he could have gone to school with her. She found older people easier to relate too at times. They had more experience in life and didn’t judge like the younger generation tended to do. Charlie was calm and friendly and told her when he started the place with his wife and how their son was very successful and would drop by the shop and help out. His wife passed away a year ago but he didn’t seem struck by the loss. She lived a very long and enjoyable loss and he didn’t want her to weep up there so he managed to be happy running the little shop. Winter even suggested off terms she could help out and he graciously accepted her help. He loved when younger people helped him out the shop. They were very curious and speculative and now he was older he couldn’t do things as well and efficiently.
Winter turned to walk out but he called to her.
“Wait! I have to give you something!!” He exclaimed loudly.
“Yes?” Winter asked approaching his counter where she paid at.
“This is for you.” He handed her a beautiful blue fairy dust necklace seeming to be entwined with a silver vine with a silver chain. It was beautifully crafted, probably handmade.
“Why are you giving me this?” She asked.
“It was a gift from Rose. That school isn’t always the safest place so many of the students would carry little weapons with them just in case.” He said.
She raised her eyebrows, dangerous?
“It is fine. Don’t worry. It is in a little ominous place so people thought the weapons would keep them safe. This year when you pull off the pendant it transforms into a sword. Try it.” He said.
She did as he said and it turned into a beautiful sword just as the necklace with the hilt as the fairy dust and a silver dagger end. It was beautiful. Definitely something of her aunts.
“Thank you so much.” She said and put the necklace on carefully.
“Of course. Rose was very kind. I hope you enjoy your school. It is a nice place, well most of the time. You will learn great things. I hope you become successful and visit off term to help me!” He said.
“Of course! Your shop reminds me of when my aunt was still here.” She said longingly. He simply smiled and waved.
She walked outside and called for Fredrick to pick her up.
She really wondered how the school would turn out. It seemed already interesting.
___
“Did you get everything?” Fredrick asked and wiped his mouth.
“Yeah.” Winter said and got ready for bed.
Tomorrow, she would be going to this strange and weird school. A cab would be picking her up tomorrow. She almost couldn’t sleep not because of excitement because of nervousness. But her aunt would be with her right?

♠ I went to my mom’s office in the morning. I just listened to music and completed my scrapbook. It looked pretty good in my opinion. I can’t wait to see the finished project at the end of the year. It will be awesome, I am sure of it. I cannot afford a bad grade. Why am I thinking of the end of the school year? It already just started.

♠ I started reading this book called Matched. It is amazing. I am really obsessed with Xander. He is just so cool. I am really looking forward to how it will turn out. Governments like the Capitol are becoming quite popular. My next book to read is Divergant.

♠ I got Panera and then hung out with Dolris, Olivia and Shivano Dolris and I came up with crazy crackships for Bleach, Lily you would approve. And we talked about books. Then, we went and had a picnic. It was very nice. Cookies, mini pizza and pistachios!

Good Night! Thank you for commenting,

“Guilt, is a tough emotion. Sometimes, it swallows you up whole. Taking away the feel of true reality. But sometimes the truth and be even harder to bear than the endless lies you supply. Is it the truth that hurts more or the lies? Sometimes, we shall never know…”
Is it truly to love and let go?
Do those words truly mean something?

Chapter 1- New Beginnings

If life could get any worse than this…

Winter sighed and looked out the window. It was a beautiful scenery that Winter itched to get her colored pencils and draw. But alas she was not in the mood for that.

Today, she was being shipped off to her uncle’s house. You are probably in good terms with your uncle and wouldn’t mind if you had live there for a while but Winter hated her uncle. She always never liked him. He was a strange man with wired spectacles, a walking cane and often mumbled and talked of strange things. He had always called her “Monarch Butterfly” which Winter thought was an annoyingly strange nickname for her. As a child she only came to her uncle’s house to see her aunt. Her aunt, Rosalyn was a wonderful person, caring, sweet, kind and a great cook. She always wondered why she had married such an awful person but that was a rude question to ask. She would play in her aunt’s garden. It was gorgeous with brightly colored flowers and sculptures. She kept building on to it because she believed it would keep her in good terms with the “fairies” and “pixies.” Her aunt believed in fairies and pixies and as a child she enjoyed listening to the stories she told. But when she was 5 her aunt was diagnosed with cancer and died. Everyone at her funeral shed tears for she was a wonderful person. After her aunt’s death, Winter believed her uncle got even more crazier as if he lost his sanity. He managed to keep the garden well and talked to it as if he were having a fine conversation with it. The rooms were all dusty and dirty as if you wanted to look at a glimpse of the past. Only 3 rooms were kept clean; the study, her aunts room and the guest room. She was devastated to be here. She might as well move to an orphanage.

She was being sent off there for a few reasons. After her brother’s murder, her mother became insane. She would drink and drink and hardly was ever sober. She was fired from her job and stayed home, drinking. Winter did as many after school activities so she wouldn’t be home often. The arts helped her cope. She drew her feelings, played her feelings on the clarinet and danced her feelings. She never dared to hurt her father but they got into loud arguments, frightening Winter. Her mother smashed bottles and threw furniture. The days her father worked late were the days she was even more frightened to go home. Her mother would knock her door and demand to come in, beating and hitting her. Her classmates would ask but Winter would just brush if off so they ended up just ignoring her which she didnt mind. She wasn’t like her brother who could stop her parents arguments easily. One day she was so fed up with it, she came over to her mother and yelled at her but she smashed a bottle on her head which sent her crying and her father having to bandage her. As time went on this issue became worse and not even the doctors could help her. Her father claimed this was not the woman he fell in love with. So now he was doing paperwork and trying to divorce her. Her father wanted her to be far away from this.

Her brother, Christopher.. He was a great person. He was the prize of the family while she stood silent in the background, not caring. Though she wished she were as great as her brother. He had inherited her fathers beautiful blond hair which was a yellowish color. Winter always wished she had gotten blond hair than black, it would make her pale complexion seem more darker. Her brother was perfect, good at everything. He excelled at sports and was the head of almost every team except football since he loathed that sport. He managed to keep wonderful grades, all A’s and AP classes. Winter was jealous at this because she was an average student and managed B’s, C’s and the occasional A. Her brother was very popular and was in good terms with everyone. Even the people who thought they hated him for his perfectness ended up liking him because he was a likable person. He even had a gorgeous girlfriend, her name was Diane. She had hazel eyes and beach blond hair. Of course she was the head cheerleader. Winter always wished she could make friends like that. She was quite unsociable and found it hard to make friends and strike conversations with people. She was quite shy and found it hard to open up to anyone. This led people to ignore her and lead her to have no friends. Her brother would try to find friends for her but Winter always dismissed his attempts. What do you do with a “friend”? If only her brother was still alive. He had a future. A perfect destiny. His future was a paved road while her’s was all bumps and ended up to the middle of nowhere. His death was a tortuous memory. It turned her insides out and made her feel undeniable shame for herself. It was a deep mental scar but on her conscious unlike her mother’s scar on her insanity. She was the useless child, the silent child, the child no one seemed to care about. While her brother was the star with never dying flame. She should have died..it would have been for the best. The memory of his death was fresh and clear as if it happened yesterday….

It was a cold autumn night, the wind blowing sending crisp colored leaves flying everywhere and landing cleanly on the ground. Winter couldn’t sleep, she heard footsteps and noises coming from downstairs. She believed it was her imagination and walked down the stairs with her red heart shaped pillow she slept with. Even though she was a teenager, she preferred sleeping with a soft object.

She went into the kitchen and reached for a cool polished glass and poured cold water in it. But what she saw outside almost made her glass. Two boys where standing near the window, they looked younger than Chris. One had bright, lively green eyes and held a golden knife while the other had brown eyes. Her brother stood in front of him, shocked and his hair ruffled from sleep. Winter his behind the doorway.

“What have you come here for?” Chris asked.

“I have come to kill you. Chris Penhollow.” The boy with green eyes said. This made Winter breathe a soft gasp. She tried to move but she was frozen with fear, her feet glued to the floor.

“What?” Chris’ eyes widened. “Why?”

But the boy said nothing and swiftly approached him. Chris dodged each strike and rummaged the room for something that could help him. He grabbed a pair of scissors as jabbed them at the boy. The boy worriedly shuffled and rolled out of the way. While Chris was consumed in fighting off the green eyes boy, the second boy came behind him. Winter wanted to scream, stomp or call 911. But her throat made now sound, her feet wouldn’t move and her arms were pinned down at her side. The brown eyed boy came behind him and punched him, sending him flying to the floor. The brown eyed boy pinned him down. Chris wriggled around flailing his arms, trying to punch the boy. Even though Chris was stronger and larger. The boys had the advantage since they were wide awake and Chris was interrupted from his sleep.

“Got him!” The brown eyed boy exclaimed.

“Good. Well, goodbye Chris. You werent a bad fighting opponent.” The green eyed boy brought the gleaming knife down.

“Wait! Tell my family..I love them!” Chris sputtered.

“Yeah yeah. Whatever.” The green eyed boy said. He sent the golden knife down to his heart twisting it as scarlet blood spilled out. He sent the knife down five times.

When Chris was completely dead and the boys were walking away. Winter’s senses reawakened and she fled to her brother, crying and holding his hand. She stared at his cold body with the golden life struck down on his heart. His face was cold, why did this have to happen?

The boys whirled around.

“What’s this? Chris had a lil sis?” The green eyed boy said, his eyebrow arching up.

“Hey. Kid were you here the whole time?” The brown eyes boy asked.

“Yes.” Winter said softy not making any eye contact.

“Wow. Your an idiot!” The green eyed boy laughed. “You could have saved your brother! Screamed, dialed 911 or stomped. But he’s dead now. You might as well held the bloody knife. And I wouldn’t have minded if I was interrupted by you…” He bent down and stroked her cheek. She flinched at the touch.

They whirled around and left. Winter shuddered. It was her fault…she..killed…him..she..could..have..saved him..

Winter got some rope loosely wrapped it around her and screamed.

Her parents rushed down and were shocked at the sight they saw. Their son was bleeding with a knife imprint in his heart. His eyes were fluttered closed and his blond hair was matted and bloody.

“Darling! What happened?” Her father cried.

“I came downstairs for water and saw 2 boys..One with green and the other with brown eyes came and k-k-k-killed him. The brown eyed one came and tied me up and wouldn’t let me move. The other boy had a knife and was fighting Chris. But he pinned him down and..and..s-s-st-stabbed him!” Winter cried. She wasn’t just crying because she was upset, she was crying because she lied. She could have saved him but she was frozen with fear. The guilt swallowed her up and resulted with eerie blackness..

Winter winced at the memory. It was April 26th, he didnt even make it to her birthday which was the next month. The guilt was still eating her up, to this very day. She should have-

“Ey! Winter we are here! I’ll help ya with your bags!” Paul exclaimed.

“Thanks Paul. You were a great driver.” Winter said. It was true. He chatted with her at the beginning of the way. They asked each other’s names and about where she was going. Paul was going to college in San Diego and was working part time to pay off the tuition.

“How much was the ride?” Winter asked.

“11.53!” He exclaimed.

Winter rummaged through her purse and only found 20 dollar bills. She handed him one and he looked around for change.

“Argh. You might as well could have-”

“Keep the change.” Winter said softly. At least she was doing a nice gesture for someone before she left to her uncles house. Paul seemed pleased and hopped in the cab.

“Good luck at yer Uncles house!” He exclaimed and zoomed away. Winter wished she could scream for him to come back, that she could help him by selling paintings. But her father would be cross if she decided not to go to her uncles house.

She looked up at the estate. The hedges were untrimmed and the grass was tall as if it had not been cut. Vines wrapped around it giving it the look of an abandoned palace. Of course this wasnt her palace and she was no princess with a perfectly ending love story. The garden still looked acceptable with roses, daffodils and flowers of every color. But the scent of the garden made her nostalgic, it just was filled with Rosalyn.

Winter went up to the doorbell and gulped. She pressed the gold button and let the bell echo and chime. Maybe, he wasnt home?

To her disappointment he opened the door. His hair was slick, his wired glasses taped and he wore a suit and he had his name tag from work reading “Fredrick Penhollow.”

“Ah. Monarch Butterfly! Come in! Come in!” Fredrick exclaimed and grabbed her luggage.

The house looked even more dismal without her aunt’s colorful touch. The grandfather clock chimed sadly singing a soft and sad melody.

He dragged her up to her room. It was gorgeous, with Aunt Rosalyn’s touch of style. The bed was a large canopy bed with blue and white stripes and fluffy pillows. The walls were plastered with various science posters of her uncle’s and paintings. There was a cherry wood table with a chair and a cushion on it. Next to the bed was a cherry wood nightstand with a silver lamp. The room was carpeted with vanilla colored carpet. The bathroom was small but decent, mostly green. Outside her window she had a fantastic view of Rosalyn’s ever famous garden. The smell of fresh flowers wafted throughout the room.

She laid down on the bed letting the silky sheets cover her body. She unpacked her stuff and left her clothes in the closet. She took out her sketchbook and contemplated what to draw. She found herself better at observational drawing than imagining things to draw but the only thing she could draw with her imagination was fairies. She drew the garden through Rosalyn’s eyes. Beautiful flowers with dancing fairies. The drawing was bittersweet.

“Tea!” Fredrick cried.

Winter sighed, and left the sketchbook on the nightstand. She sniffed the air and smelled English Brunch tea. She smiled, at least he had good taste in tea compared to the Earl Gray tea he used to bring. Her nose crinkled at the thought. Fredrick was sitting at the table with a newspaper and his glasses were loosely perched on his nose. He held a dainty pink teacup and was drinking calmly. Winter poured herself some and took a seat across from him.

“Ah. Very interesting article.” He murmured to no one in particular. Winters deep blue eyes focused on the floor hoping that he wouldn’t notice her. As if it was on demand Fredrick looked right at her.

“So Winter I have some fantastic news!” He exclaimed and set the teacup down.

Winter raised an eyebrow, she didn’t know what this mans idea of “good news” was.

There is a little thing called adventure. In the times we search for it we never find it but in the times we least expect it just appears there. Just like love without the ups and downs and the tears you have shed.

Hold on to those memories. One day those people you hold dear are going to change and you won’t be able to do anything about it.

Chapter 2, Pens.

Violet took a seat next to Chris who was gobbling up all the food.

“Chris! Let her eat some.” Grace said sternly and Violet ate a snall portion. She wasn’t in the mood for eating.

“Are you like annorexic or something?” Chris asked. Violet flushed.

“Chris. You are very rude apologize!” Grace said annoyed.

“Fine sorry.” He said annoyed.

“It’s fine.” She said and stared down.

“Chris? Would you mind taking her school shopping? Moneys on me. I have a Garden Club meeting!” Grace exclaimed but she lied. She just wanted her son to get to know Violet better.

“Mom! I am going to see a movie with Bailey and my friends.” He replied.

“Chris!” Grace exclaimed.

“Fine.” He said.

Violet felt very embarrassed that Chris refused to hang out with her.

“I am finished.” Violet said and walked upstairs.

“Chris! After your done please check on her?” Grace asked.

“Mom! Why are you making me do EVERYTHING!?” Chris groaned.

“She needs a friend son. Please?” She asked.

Violet sat on her bed wearing a pair of sweat pants and a plain black T-shirt.

Chris walked in.

“Its fine Chris. You don’t need to take me. I have an idea.” She said.

Wow! This is awesome! Now I don’t need to hang out with her. Bailey would be jealous. But that was kind of her, Chris thought.

“Well, you drive me there and go to your movie. When it is done pick me up. Your mom will think that we hung out the whole time.” Violet said.

“Whoah dude thanks!” Chris exclaimed and walked out.

Chris slept soundly while Violet woke up in cold sweats. She had a terrible dream and she couldn’t fall back asleep.

Her father came back to life to avenge his death and went out kill her. His knife was inches from her neck.

Violet shuddered. She didn’t know what to do. She turned on a reading light and started to draw on the windowsill. She didn’t want to talk to Chris. He was just a self centered loser who she had a crush on. She sighed and her eyes slowly began to droop.

Tumblr_lomr7t7hhw1qcxieko1_500_large

Chris woke up to the sound of some rap music. He felt great he had a great nights sleep. He went over to his phone.

Bailey: Hey Chris. You on for today?
Chris: Def wouldn’t miss it for the world babe.
Bailey: OMG! YAY! I LOVE YOU CHRIS! <33
Chris: Me too!
Bailey: Gtg get ready! Bye!
Chris: Love you!

Chris rubbed his eyes. He had to go wake up Violet! He ran to her room and found her on the windowsill with a booklight on and a sketchbook in her hand and a pencil in the other. Her face was set in a restless expression like she was having a bad dream. Her bed covers were messed up. She probably got up in the middle of the night. She could have came to him or Grace.

“Psst. Violet get up it’s 11!” he whispered and shook her. Her eyes fluttered open to the color of stormy gray and she shuddered.

“Oh yeah.” she said and closed her sketchbook and stuffed it in a cabinet. Her box of colored pencils went on her desk and she turned of the book light.

“Hey. Did you have a bad dream or something?” Chris asked.

“None of your business.” she said coldly.

“Gosh dude chillax. Well I am taking a shower first!” He exclaimed. Since, there was sadly one bathroom that connected their rooms together they had to share.

“NOT IF I GET THERE FIRST!” She said with a giggle and jumped on top of me and slammed the door in my face.

“HEY YOU LIL BIT-” I tried to say.

Violet smirked victory was hers! She took of her pajamas and hung them up and grabbed a towel.

Chris sat outside of the door with a sour look on his face. He waited 18 minutes and began to finish up his science project which was due next Thursday.

Violet felt great. The warm water really refreshed her senses. She put on some eyeshadow and used the hair straightener and brushed her hair. She peeked through the bottom. Chris was still sitting there.

“Hey Chris! I suggest moving out of my room so I can change!” Violet screamed.

Chris flushed he didn’t realize that he was in her room. He liked it, very homey. He quickly got out.

Violet got out and locked the door. She picked out a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a gray and white striped long sleeve shirt, black Nike high tops, a bird necklace and put on a black beanie. She clipped back her red bangs with a star clip. She posed in the mirror. She didn’t look that bad. She put on a black leather pea coat over it and didn’t put any buttons on.

Tumblr_m41iobkvon1qj6l9so1_500_large

Chris finished his shower. Augh. If Violet didn’t get the shower first he would have been texting Bailey. But no that stubborn girl had to get in the way. But there was something about her. Her sad output, her color changing eyes, dark reddish brown hair and attitude. When he looked into her eyes even when she laughed they were still sad. He thought that was so weird.

Chris tried to get Violet out of his mind. He was undeniably in love with Bailey, what was wrong with him!?

He quickly brushed his hair and put on a pair of dark jeans and his football sweatshirt.

He came down the stairs and saw Violet quietly eating a bagel while chatting with my mother.

“Ah, the main guest has arrived.” Violet said coldly with a big smirk plastered on her face.

“Well, OK, Let’s get going now!” Chris exclaimed and grabbed a piece of toast.

Violet grabbed her dark blue purse and waved to Grace. Boy, was he excited to get rid of her she thought with a scowl.

Tumblr_lyqu89htkp1qicchko1_500_large

Violet accompanied Chris in his Silver Chevy. She sat in the black leather seat next to him. It was silent for the beginning of the ride.

“Would you mind putting on some music cause the silence is killing me?” Violet murmured.

Chris put on a rock station. He turned up the radio which was now blasting Weekends! by Skillrex.

Violet crossed her arms, she totally hated this music. They totally had different music tastes.

Chris explained what Violet had to buy. And Grace kindly gave Violet which Violet tried to refuse.

“What movie are you going to see with..Bailey?” Violet asked quietly.

“Eh. Just some Chick Flick. Idk. The girls chose. I am going with my bud Derek and Bailey’s best friend Victoria.” Chris said and shrugged.

“Sounds fun.” Violet said and looked out the window.

“Your extremely unsocial you know. That’s not going to help much.” Chris murmured. He was going to be blamed for Violet not having friends and he was definitely not introducing her to his friends. His friends ruled the school, everyone feared and respected them.

“I just don’t want to talk to you in general cause your an idiot.” Violet whispered which wasn’t true. She just didn’t want to rub off the fact that she liked him and feel the wrath of his girlfriend.

“Gosh. Your mean.” Chris said with a smirk.

Violet really wanted to change the subject now. She peered outside and saw a large complex.

“Oh look we are here!” Violet exclaimed.

“Don’t get hurt and don’t go to the alleys! I am not driving to the hospital!” Chris said with a smirk.

“I WON’T!” Violet screamed and Chris drove off.

Violet found a giant map of the whole complex and found the Office Store. She went and bought all the stuff she needed. Somehow, she managed go carry all of her bags.

She took a seat on a near by bench and put her bags to the left of her and her hand bag to the right. She turned on her phone and checked her messages. She considered giving a call to Chris but he was probably to busy anyways. She sighed. All of a sudden she felt a motion and turned to see someone carrying her purse.

“Hey come back here!” She screamed and chased after the thief. She finally caught the person and turned the person to see a young child. He had a grimy little face and light brown hair with dark eyes and tan skin.

“Hey.” She said and took the purse.

“Sorry.” The boy said and hung his head.

“What’s wrong little boy and what’s your name?” She asked sweetly.

“Well, my mommy and daddy lost their jobs and we don’t have much money. We lost our house a week ago. But they still let me go to school! I am in 2nd grade! Way older than my little kindergarten brother! My names Henry!” He exclaimed.

“Aw! How sad! It’s nice to meet you Henry. I am Violet. Would you like to take me to take you to dinner?” She said kindly. Henry nodded and she took him by the hand. They sat down at a near by cafe.

Violet ordered half soup and half salad while Henry ordered a bowl of soup for him and some food from his family. He told her things about himself.

“Hey Violet?” He asked.

“Yes Henry?” She asked.

“Do you have a boyfriend?” He said and tried to contain his gigantic smile. This led Violet to blush.

“Naw.” She said quietly.

“You should! Your pretty!” He said flashing a giant smile with lost teeth. This gesture really warmed her heart.

“Your a sweet kid Henry.” She replied and ruffled his hair.

“Oh, I have to go! Thank you Violet!” He exclaimed.

“Bye! I shall see you later!” She said with a big smile.

She walked out a wrote a quick text message to Chris saying that she needed him to pick her up. She looked around so she could find where she came from. Hopefully she wasn’t lost! She walked into an alley and all of a sudden she was surrounded by 3 men. She didn’t get a good look at them but their hoods were up and they had matching tattoos.

“Ooh. Look what we found.” One man said.

“Um..I..I..have some money?” Violet asked searching through her dark blue purse. A man came up to her a stroked her cheek.

“We don’t need money.” The man said calmly.

Violet was frightened but she couldn’t wait for anyone to save her. She needed to take action. Anyways, no one seemed to be near enough to hear her. She punched a guy in the nose and his nose began bleeding and she kicked the other guy. 2 down. Where was the 3rd guy?

Chris looked down at his phone. Where was she? She probably got lost.

He walked around and saw a bright flash of red hair punching two guys. But behind her a man had a blindfold. Chris ran over and punched the man behind her.

Violet whirled around to see her savior was none other than Chris.

“Wow. What are you doing here? Are you ok?” Chris asked.

“I got lost. I am fine.” Violet mumbled.

Chris walked Violet back to his car. And he turned down the radio so he could talk and helped her put her bags in the car.

“So how was the movie?” Violet asked.

Chris winced. Of all the questions. She had to ask this one! Bailey and him didn’t exactly watch the movie.

“Great..?” Chris stated.

“Let me guess. You were making out the whole time?” Violet said.

Chris flushed. How did she know? She wasn’t even there! Anyways, he kept his emotions closed, tucked under the surface. His usual emotions were usually covered by anger so you couldn’t really tell what he was feeling. But how..

“Erm..” He managed.

Violet let out a light smirk. She was glad to make him feel awkward.

“Andromeda…” She whispered. Her eyes lit up like a child on Christmas.

Chris wondered what she was so intrigued by. It was just the sky!

“Whatcha looking at?” He asked.

Violet didn’t even hear what he said. Mid fall. The perfect time to look for her father and her favorite constellation. She adored the myth of how she was chained to a rock. She always thought there would be a bad thing in life and her shining prince would come to save her! But that was childish. Her walls were filled with what she imagined Andromeda to look like, she had to put those up on the wall. Look for Alpheretaz she thought. Cassiopeia..and Pegasus..

“Yes! I found it!” She shrieked.

“What?” Chris asked through gritted teeth.

“Oh just my favorite constellation.” She whispered and her face flushed. He probably thought that was really nerdy.

Chris’ eyes widened. She liked constellations? He had never admitted it to anyone but he was a constellation junkie. He had a telescope in his room and he used it all the time. He had tons of planet books. But ever since becoming very popular he thought that his friends who think that he was nerdy. So whenever someone came over he would hide his stuff and not tell anyone. He would sometimes discuss astronomy with his mom but she wasn’t as educated as his dad.

“Hey..” Chris said but to see that she was fast asleep. She had a serene expression compared to her normally sad looking expression. He tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.

Chapter 2, You Gotta Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer

I’ve got my hands in my pockets
,Kickin these rocks.
Its kinda hard to watch this life go by
.I’m buyin into skeptics,
Skeptics mess with, the confidence in my eyes

“Hm, I am going to call you..” Dragon stated.

“Yes, Captain Dragon?” Belladonna asked confused.

“Butterfly!” He exclaimed.

“What! Why?” She asked.

“Well, your stupid like one.” He huffed.

“HEY! Your mean!” She exclaimed.

“Hm, whatever.” He scoffed.

“So any duties you want me to do?” She asked.

“Could you move those boxes?” He asked and gestured to some boxes. He gestured to at least the other side of the ship. This ought to keep her busy and out of his way! Those were pretty heavy boxes, so he did not expect a shrimp like her to even let alone lift one of those. This was going to be fun, watching her embarrass herself.

He went to find other things to attend to.

Belladonna’s eyes widened, no way could she lift those things! Did her purposely give her this impossible task?

The other pirates stared at her, they never had a girl on board. But it was nice for a change to see something young and pretty on the ship. They smiled but they saw her staring at the boxes.

Belladonna stared at all the guys lifting the boxes like it was a feather. She sighed, how was she going to do it!

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh
you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

Belladonn focused and picked up the box. Oh dear, it was probably heavier than her! Her eyes bulged out but she held on the box like it was her life.

“Excuse me where should I put this?” She asked.

“Oh over there. Wow, your pretty strong to lift that thing.” A pirate said and punched her shoulder.

Belladonna turned a little red.

“Oh thanks! It’s just determination!” She said confidentially!

“Hellloo! Captain!” Belladonna screamed.

Dragon turned around and saw a flustered Belladonna. She looked sweaty and out of breath. He smirked. She probably couldn’t do it and was now begging for his forgiveness. This was going to be good. He let out a smirk.

“What is it Butterfly?” He asked.

“I am done! I helped the other pirates with the boxes and is there anything else you would like me to do Captain?” She asked. Belladonna felt quite proud of herself for actually accomplishing something. She felt very happy! But at the same time she felt awful. She felt sick and wanted to lie down and curl up into a ball.

“Ah. Well, just go clean up the deck I suppose. I didn’t really have anything else planned for you to do.” He said.

Belladonna felt a little offended because that probably meant that he was calling her weak and incapable of doing anything.

“Yes! Of course!” She exclaimed and ran off.

Instead, of going to the deck, she ran to her room and sat in the corner and curled about into a little ball. She felt sick and downright awful.

She took out her notebook and started to draw. She felt herself calming down a bit but she still felt sick. She was probably sea sick but she was too embarrassed to tell Captain Dragon. She had to show that she was fearless and take things head on ad face her fears! But at this rate she could let alone kill a fly.

Belladonna looked at her drawing and realized she had drawn her old horse. It made her feel very nostalgic for land.

“What are you doing in this corner Butterfly? Get up and stand straight!” Dragon exclaimed.

Butterfly tried to stand but she wobbled over a bit. She turned a shade of pink.

“I dont..feel..so….good.” She mumbled.

“Oh! You land lubber’ must have sea sickness! Let me bring you over to Andre!” He exclaimed. He grabbed Belladonna’s hand and kept her steady. He realized she was very small, petite and fragile. He was shocked. He was going to make sure she was safe. She was to small and breakable to become a real pirate. Someone, in the end might stab her. And it was his job to keep him safe. Dragon never felt this close to any women besides his mom. His mom reminded of him of her. His mother was small and petite but she was strong willed and very brave. Maybe, Belladonna was like her. He didnt want to underestimate her!

“Well, here you are to the kitchen. Relax for a while.” He said.

“Thanks Dragon.” She said smiling brightly. Her smile warmed him but he pretended to have no expression what so ever.

An average sized kid with fluffy dirty blond hair and dark hazel eyes. He had tanned skin and a bright shining smile plastered on his face.

“Oh hello there! You must be Belladonna! Ah! Here!” Andre exclaimed cheerfully and handed her a a drink. Belladonna stared at her curiously and drank it. Her face lit up into a smile.

“Whoah thank you! Your Andre right? Thank you! I feel a lot better now!” Belladonna exclaimed happily.

Belladonna and Andre chatted for a while about their lives, how he was a cook and he taught her how to cook a few things.

“DINNER!” Andre screamed and rang a bell.

All the pirates took a seat at the large table. Belladonna took a seat next to Andre and Dragon came and sat next to Belladonna.

Andre set down rice, fish, salted beef,  peas and a salad. He put down some beer and water

“Well, eat up everyone!” Andre exclaimed cheerfully.

Belladonna carefully watched everyone, they seemed to be taking large portions of meat. Belladonna thought for a while. She couldn’t eat and meat because she was a vegetarian. Maybe, no one would notice that. She took a small portion of  rice, peas and salad.

Belladonna quietly chewed while everyone loudly talked and cheered, drinking beer.

“Hey? Why are you eating so little! We need ta fatten yer’ up!” A pirate called. Belladonna flushed. Dragon glared, he found it strange for other men to make her blush.

“I am a vegetarian.” She said softly.

“Oh.” Dragon said and laughed at her. How strange.

“Yea.” She said softly.

It was almost time for bed and Belladonna put on a long shirt of Dragon’s and put her hair in a loose bun.

“Well, Butterfly how was your first day!” He asked smirking.

Belladonna carefully left her knapsack on the side of the bed.

“Fine fine. I think I shall make a great pirate! What do you think?” She exclaimed and took out a book.

“No!” He said and snorted. Belladonna jumped on top of the bed.

I know it’s hard, know its hard,
To remember sometimes,
But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

“I AM BUTTERFLY I SHALL THE BE THE STRONGEST GIRL TO SAIL THE SEVEN SEAS!” She screamed and with that began to fall.

“AHH! CATCH ME DAMIEN!” She blurted

Dragon caught her but then dropped her face first with a shocked expression plastered on his face. How did she know his name? And was that Little Women. That was his mother’s favorite book!

“Ouch! Dragon!” She exclaimed.

“How..did you know my name? And this that Little Women?” He asked. She flushed.

“Oh I just blurted that out. And yes! This book is so amazing! Well, from now on I am going to be calling you Damien! Haha!” She said dreamily.

“Augh. And how strange my mother adored that book also.” He said. Belladonna’s eyes became wider as she struggled to stay away. Her head was on his lap.

“Uh huhh. That is great. It is quite an amazing book…” She said sleepily.

“Go to sleep Belladonna! Your falling asleep on me!” He said with a laugh.

“Alright.” She said and clambered into the bed.

She fell asleep in a few minutes. He watched her fall asleep, she looked liked an angel.

He got into the bed and fell asleep facing away from her but in the end she had her head on his chest and his arms were wrapped around her slim waist. You would think they were a perfect married couple.

There it is finally done! I hoped you enjoy the little romancey-fluff. I hoped you enjoyed this chapter!

Learning to Forget

Chapter 1, Adele

Violet had a grim expression on her face. She clutched her sketchbook and notebook and shut her eyes.

Her father…memories that she wished would go away.

Her father disappeared and when he came back, he was in the forest bleeding to death. He managed to say a few words.

“I love you Violet..please never try what I did…” he mumbled and handed her a silver eagle ring, heart locket and this notebook which Violet looks over everyday, pretending your still here with me.

“Father! Don’t leave me!” Violet shrieked and he died.

The only reason her mom, Hannah even was kind to her was because of her father. Her mother believed Violet had killed him and disowned her and left her to rot. Thankfully, the orphanage found her but this happened when she was 9.

She had not been adopted for 6 years, She was now 15. Until now, a kindly women named Grace with a son the same age as her.

“Well, here you go Violet! Finally, your getting adopted!” Sam exclaimed with his usual cheery attitude.

“Yea. I shall be seeing you around Sam.” Violet said. Sam helped unload her luggage which was only 2 suitcases.

Sam rang the doorbell and she opened her sketchbook and drew.

“Ah hello! You must be Violet! I am your new mother Grace!” She said and I knew I had a good home. Grace seemed like one of those people you would automatically like.

“Yes Miss.” She said softly.

“And please call me Grace! Oh, Mister you may be of!” She chirped and handed Sam some money. Sam looked even happier because this was his first time being tipped!

“Of course.” She said not wanting much conversation so she stared down at my black ballet flat slippers.

“Chris! Chris! Come down here!” she cried.

“But why mom? You just adopted a daughter, big whoop!” Chris grumbled.

“Not exactly. Violet, it is like I am your permanent guardian! Chris, you should be coming Violet is quite cute.” she said

Violet’s crept into a light blush. She had never really thought she was beautiful in any way. She had reddish brown hair and she usually clipped them back because she had been called emo and teased a good bit. Her eyes changed colors like a kaleidoscope but their normal color was forest green. She was more on the skinny, petite and athletic side.

Chris came down and Violet’s eyes widened. He was really cute. He was muscular and had blond hair and brown eyes like his mom who had dirty blond hair. While his mom showed a more happier output he showed a cooler output.

Chris looked at Violet and he actually believed his mom. She was very pretty in a calm and natural way compared to his girlfriend Victoria who put lots of makeup on and was very bubbly. But dating him made them the most popular couple in school and gave his reputation a big boost.

Her eyes were sparkling and changing color. It was pretty.. Chris shook his head, he was not one to be a cheating player.

“Ah. Chris can you show her to her room? I shall be making dinner in the kitchen! Oh, and while your at it talk to her about school!” she said and walked to the kitchen.

“Ok, well your room is this way. Boy, you barely have any bags!” Chris exclaimed. Usually, girls would have tons of stuff.

“I didn’t really..have much after my mom left me. She threw me out, gave me some clothes my books and said goodbye.” she said.

Wow, that really sucked for her no wonder she seemed really sad.

“Any reason why?” Chris asked curiously.

“Um. I prefer not talking about it.” She said and stared at her shoes. Wow, she just met this guy and now he wanted to know everything.

“Um, well did you go to a school before this one?” he asked. Wow, way for her to be touchy.

“Yea. The orphanage caretaker let me go to a school close by. Only my friend Valentina and my friend Hunter knew that I was an orphan. Hm. I miss them. I was hoping I was going to be able to go to the dance with Hunter.” She said.

Well, now she was in a new school and by the looks of it she would have to go a month without any friends. There were some nice people in her old school but she was still teased. Thankfully, she had some people to back her up. But she really didn’t care what they said it went through her like she was invisible.

“Oh.” He said softly. Chris was now trying to decide if he liked her or Victoria. He pointed to her room.

Violet walked in and set down her sketchbook which was like her diary and her father’s notebook. She carefully opened her suitcases and set her clothes in the dresser.

The room was nice. It had a big window with a bench on it, a medium sized closet, a desk with a lamp, nightstand and a fair sized bed.

“Um. Why are you still here?” She asked Chris who was leaning on the wall crossing his arms.

“Oh sorry. Hey, you might need some school things so go shopping with my mom. My room is next door.” he said and slammed the door.

Violet stood there baffled, he was rude! She walked back to her room and sat near the window and peered outside. She opened her father’s notebook and opened to a random page.

The Ballad of the Heavens

There once was a girl
Hair of curls
Eyes as blue as the sea
Kind
Caring
And
Sweet
But someone had already taken her heart
For she was in love
With a lad from Wales
For he was different than the rest
People claimed he was supernatural
That didn’t matter to her
She looked high and low
But for he vanished mysteriously
Her determination blinding her
She found him
Bleeding to the bone
Soaked in his blood
Verge of dying
Time stopped
His soul leaving the world
But one day
They joined together
In the stars
Dancing
Singing
Full of happiness
Together in Heaven
Happy ending are true

Violet felt pain, her father would always sing her this before bed. Even as a teenager she loved this song, it made her feel happy. She clutched the notebook but did not cry. When her father died, she cried for days and refused to come out of the room. After, that Violet felt as if she poured out her soul crying and felt that it hard for her to cry. She felt that those days she managed to get rid of the emotion of crying.

She whipped out her sketchbook and drew. She drew a girl wearing a flowing white dress and long blue hair, reaching out to the night sky. The sky had the moon and stars, it was like the girl was trying to made amends to the sky.

She got her IPod and played her depressed playlist. At least now, someone else was depressed with her.

Chris turned up his IPod louder. Yes! Green Day, Linkin Park and Eminem. He felt totally chilled out, he wondered what Violet was feeling like now. He felt bad for her, that her mom disowned her and her dad died.

All of a sudden he heard sad songs playing from her room.

Never mind I will find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for youuu too

Chris covered his head with a pillow. What was with the depressing songs? He groaned. He had to show her who was boss in this house minus his mom.

He walked into the room. Violet was sitting on the window sill staring out at the sky and was drawing. She was not even looking but her drawing looked perfect.

“Get out! You know it is rude not to knock! I am in my zone!” she shrieked and threw which hit him right in the face.

What was his problem! Couldn’t she reminisce in peace!?

“Turn of that crap music. Adele sucks.” he said and crossed his arms.

“Hey! That’s your opinion! I find Eminem’s rapping awful. He tries to rap but ends up screaming at you. But I do enjoy how he features other artists. Adele shows pure passion and sings her feelings, not anger.” She said crossly.

Who could not like Eminem! Well, she did have good back up, while he just didn’t like Adele. Her music was just so..depressing. It made him feel that he was at his father’s funeral over and over again. Chris sighed.

Violet wondered what was wrong with him and Adele? She loved Adele. Even though she feel her fathers death, it felt like Adele was there comforting. Telling her that she had been through some crap too.

“Wow, you know your music. I don’t like Adele cause every time I hear her music I feel like each time I listen to her I am at my fathers funeral. Any other singer?” he asked. Wait, why did he just tell her this?

Violet’s face warmed, her father was dead too. She gave him a pat on his back. But he was lucky he had a kindly mother.

“That’s sad. My mother disowned me because…umm..wait..never mind. My father died too..of cancer.. When I listen to Adele I feel as if she is saying, I have been through crap too. So just stay strong.” She said looking down. That was probably a really stupid thought.

Chris paused for a second.

“HHAHAH! THAT IS SO STUPID!” He said and burst out laughing.

Violet’s face suddenly crept into a blush. She felt really embarrassed there.

“Oh.” She said quietly.

“I was just kidding.” He said and realized he actually really offended her.

She smirked and sat on the window sill and whipped out her sketchbook like Chris was not in the same room a her.

“Hey, your really good at drawing!” He said quietly.

“Oh, thanks. So how is school…..” She mumbled.

“Good I guess. Well, I am dating one of the head cheerleaders.” He said.

Violet sighed. What an idiot she was.

“Dinner! Guys!” Grace screamed. She set the table with lasagna, bread and a salad.

Grace smiled. She felt as if Violet was her own daughter. She sighed. She wished her son was not dating that crazy cheerleader girl. She did not like her not one bit.

She opened a drawer and looked through it. She found a photo of her husband, herself and her son. Tears began forming in her eyes. If only her husband Walter was here. He was so goofy he would surely make her laugh. He would give Chris great advice.

“Grace are you alright?” Violet asked.

Grace smiled, what a sweet girl.

“Of course darling. Dinner is served.” Grace put away the picture and went to help the kids while Chris was eating the food very quickly.

Authors note: first chapter! ahh so long! Sorry if you like Adele and Eminem I have nothing against them! For some reason I am obsessed with making my characters good at drawing..well maybe to make up for the fact that I friggin suck at drawing! Please comment, like and sub! I already have a plot line for this story so it will not be an incomplete story! 😀

A Star in the Sky

Chapter 2, Rose Garden

“Sure, I guess if I won’t intrude.”

“Course they will be fine with it!” I said with a smile. I was glad that An wanted to eat lunch with us! It made me feel all warm inside.

I vaguely remember why I had such a sick obsession with flowers, not any flowers. Roses, any colors the bright cherry red ones, the soft pink or pale yellow. I didn’t care, they were all roses.

A while ago when I was around 5, my mom picked me up from my classes. It was a bright and warm spring day. A day in April when the flowers were just beginning to bloom. In school I was made fun a little that my hair was bright red, they called me strawberry. It made me feel sad but alas I still have my bright red hair color. I have thought about dying it blond but my mom loved my red hair. I shall never disobey her thoughts.

My mom wanted me to feel better so she brought me to a beautiful meadow. She set me right near the roses, her favorite plant.

She had told me that even roses were beautiful they were armed and dangerous. She gently picked up a rose and gave it to me. Her crisp green eyes were sparkling with joy and expressing kindness. She said that people were like that to, their exterior might me rough, hard and rugged but you have to learn to appreciate what is in the inside.

That mere analogy has made me appreciate the true reason of roses, not just to look and pick up. But to appreciate the armed beauty those flowers had.

People are like roses rugged on the outside but absolutely beautiful on the inside.

Ever since my mother, Genevieve passed away I feel that roses are my only hold on my mother. My last bit of hope, that last star in the sky. The brightest of them all.

“Um..Cain? Are you alright?” An asked curiously.

“Oh yea! I am totally fine!” I exclaimed my face flushing a little. Whoah, I totally just zoned out in front of her.

We walked down to the botanical gardens, my favorite place of all. I walked over to the roses and I took a big whiff of the beautiful flowers. An smiled her dimples showing.

“Hey Cain! Over here!” Halley explained and waved. When she saw An her smile quickly evaporated into a frown. Why was that?

“Oh hey An and Cain?” Jordan asked confused.

“Um hey guys! Where is Sam?” I asked.

“Umm..I think he got lunch detention or something like that?” Jordan said with a shrug.

“Hey is it fine if An joins us for lunch?” I asked.

“Sure it is fine with me.” Jordan said and Halley kicked him. An stood there her bright eyes changing to a stormy gray. I wonder why?

“NO!” Halley said immediately.

“Come on Halley give it a rest.” Jordan said smoothly and calmly.

“Fine.” She hissed.

“It is fine I can sit somewhere else…” An said her voice trailing off as if she was in another world.

“No no. Just stay.” I said and An took a seat next to me. It was strange, as if An and Halley knew each other and had a strong relationship. It was very confusing to think about.

“Hey Jordan can you come with me to warm up my lunch?” Halley asked and Jordan nodded. They ran off together.

********

I grabbed two croissants from my lunch. I preferred my croissants warm not cold for some reason. It has been a habit for me since I was very young. I just remebered I had to get a project from my art teacher!

“Jordan! Could you warm these up for me?” I asked.

“Alright Halley. But why would you warm them up?” He asked me confused.

“Hm..WHATEVER!” I exclaimed very annoyed and walked away.

********

I put Halley’s food in the microwave and got distracted by Sam who was walking by.

“Sam! Where were you!” I exclaimed.

“Detention..” He grumbled and I laughed. How could he get lunch detention?

“Mhmm…” I said. The microwave started beeping really loudly. Shizz.

“JORDAN! WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO TO MY LUNCH!” Halley screamed. I looked at the croissants and realized that they were mostly burned. Whoops, stupid Sam distracted me.

“Sorry!” I exclaimed and she smiled. She looked so much nicer when smiled.

(Psst they looked kind of like this Bad Croissants checked!

)

********

“Well, what are your interests?” I asked An while eating my sandwich. She was politely eating her wild rice with a smile on her face.

“I like drawing, soccer, listening to one direction and hmm. Just hanging out. Hey, why are you so obsessed with roses? ” She said calmly.

“On..umm do you think that is weird? Well, it reminds me of my mother…” I said softly. She probably thinks I am a crazy weirdo. She smiled.

“No, that is so sweet.” She said with a shining smile on her face.

“Ooh did anything interesting happen here?” Jordan asked with a smirk.

Lunch carried on normally.

“I will be right back guys!” I exclaimed and ran. An sighed.

********

I ran to the rose garden well because I needed to seek out my mom for advice for guidance. After, lunch I always did this. Visiting the roses was like me visiting my mother’s grave. But it still brought hope to me. Some days I feel that as if my mother is here, still standing by my side. I sighed. I wish necromancy was real. I would certainly risk my life for my mother, her life mattered more. I wish that I was the one who died. I never really told anyone this but it is a little embarrassing sadly. Sometimes, I act like a girl. Hm, let’s change this. Well, most of the time.

I picked  rose and got rid of the thorns and felt the soft petals. They were so beautiful.

“So what are you doing here?” An asked.

“Oh just looking at the flowers.” I said a little embarrassed.

“It is fine. That is nice you are doing this. Thinking of these beautiful flowers as your mom. It is heart-warming. I have never seen such a kind and caring guy like you. I am a little surprised that you don’t have a girlfriend.

I blushed, those were the most kindest words anyone has told me. But the only girl I want as my girlfriend was An.

“Thank you An. That was very kind of you.” I said and smiled.

Well, what a romantic moment. Hehe x3. Rooomancceeee. Lala this is super awkward!

Chapter 1, You Found Me by the Fray

Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lyin’ on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded

“Goodbye, Mrs. Clyde. Thank you for the lessons!” The girl exclaimed and ran off in a hurry. Finally, the awful dancing lessons were over. Belladonna, was wonderful and talented at dancing but she simply despised it.

“Bye, my dear Princess Belladonna!” Her teacher exclaimed after her. But her teachers exclamations were drowned out by her thoughts of sewing, riding her horse Night, painting and reading all sorts of literature or poetry. She did not want to be a gentlewomen, her brother forced this dreadful task upon her so in the future she could be a great housewife. Belladonna was 17 but she cared more about getting a successful education than doing the things her brother, Prince Andrew assigned her to do.

“Belladonna! I have something to tell you!” Andrew exclaimed.

“What?” She asked hoping that Andrew got a few things for her horse Night. But she highly doubted that. Andrew, was an awful older brother, he broke her mother’s heart and acted as if he was her father and controlled her life in his very hands. It was ever since that fateful day her father died of the Plague, her brother ‘Prince Andrew was never the same.

“You are getting married.” he said nonchalantly.

“WHAT?” She hissed her beautiful turquoise eyes turning into an ice crystal.

“It is final, you are getting married to Prince Ian.” He said. Prince Ian? She had heard many rumors of him, that he married at a young age and had many many wives. He was stone and cold hearted but very attractive. She could not live with a harsh man like that, she would much rather die.

“I am not! Father said that I am not pick my own husband! Since, when were you Father! You are not as kind or as a wonderful person as he was! I WISH YOU DIED!” She exclaimed. Andrew grabbed her by the collar of her dress.

“Ever say something like that again and die.” He said and strutted away. Belladonna sighed, she did not want to marry this awful man! What would she do? But then it became evident, she was going to run away. She did not care about the costs, she had to go now. But where would she go? She had no clue.

Belladonna packed a few things in her satchel, her favorite book Little Women, a sketchpad with a few pencils and a few things for sewing. She did not how long she was going to be gone. She slipped on a gold chain with a black horse locket. The backing was silver and the black gem was polished bright.

Belladonna put on a dark blue cap and settled for a a short red dress with long black pants.

“Emalie, come!” Belladonna exclaimed. A small petite girl with long curly brown hair and chocolate brown colored eyes. She was wearing a simple black maids dress.

“Yes miss? You hardly call me. Is everything alright? You look wonderful! Your straight blond hair and turqiouse eyes. Oh, and your slim waist. Wait..where are you going?” The maid babbled.

“Emalie, did you know that you were always my favorite maid? Thank you. I shall be leaving, do not tell anyone that I left and where I am going. I am running away. Good bye. Please, take care of my horse Night.” Belladonna sighed and jumped out the window. Belladonna handed Emalie a ruby necklace as a gift. It minutes Belladonna was off.

Belladonna ran like she had never ran before. She felt like a horse, wild and free with no limits just full freedom. Belladonna was finally happy.

On the dock was a large boat called the ‘Mermaid Melody.’

“Wow! It is beautiful!” Belladonna exclaimed and stared up at the ship. It was no elaborate ship but it was beautifully crafted and sculpted.

“AH! I HAVE GOT YOU NOW PRINCESS!” A pirate exclaimed and grabbed Belladonna’s small waist.

“Let go of me you filthy scumbag!!” She screamed and kicked the man. The pirate groaned and quickly applied a pressure point and she fainted.

“Is the Princess awake?” A pirate asked.

Belladonna’s eyes fluttered open and she quickly sat up. She was surrounded by lot of filthy pirates who examined her like a rare specimen of butterfly.

“What do you want with me!!” She begged. A pirate with strange striped hair and a segment of striped skin slapped her in the face. She let out a soft shriek.

“There, now shut up.” He said most of the pirates were surprised by his rash actions.

“Hm, Stripes. That was not that kind to our visitor was that?” A man said calmly. Belladonna immediately felt as if she was in the book Snow White, she was the princess, the pirates were the dwarfs and this man was the prince. He had light brown hair that hung over his eyes and his eyes were the color of cinnamon. He was very handsome and tan. He was quite muscled too. Belladonna immediately felt a soft blush rise upon her cheeks. But she decided to dispel the thoughts of this man who walked into the room.

“Looks like the Princess likes someone..” The pirate with strange stripes said with an amusing smirk on his face. Belladonna angrily threw something at the pirate’s face. He rubbed his face making sure it was alright.

“Stripes, may I talk to the Princess  alone?” He said with an irritated expression on his face. Belladonna quickly got up and held her bag as if there were a hundred diamonds in there.

“Wh..what do you want with me!” She said trying to show a hint of courage in her exclamation but it only showed to the man that she was just as scared as brave.

“Don’t worry, you shall be back to the palace in no time! I just got to think of a good amount so ransom you for and starve you a little they can be worried!” He said cheerfully. Belladonna’s eyes widened, she came here to get away not to get sent back to the palace! She could only imagine Prince Andrew’s fury when they send her back, maybe a beating or worse he would hurt Night! Wait, but Emalie had her precious horse nice and safe. Hopefully.

“You can not send me back! I refuse too! But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!Arise, fair sun, and-” Belladonna said and was interuppted in the middle of her sentence.

“Aye! I do not need you to go about quoting literature and such. Just shush. Why on Earth would you want to be with a bunch of rugged pirates?” He asked very curious on the fact that she refused to leave. And her whole quoting of Shakespeare, made him a little home sick. Belladonna’s face flushed which he concluded that happened a lot.

Belladonna felt a little offended that her Shakespeare quoting was interuptted since she adored him. She thought he was brilliant playwright. She wished he were alive so she could actually talk to him.

“Oh..sorry. I just adore Shakespeare. Well, my brother was forcing me to marry the most heartless and cruel Prince. His name is Prince Ian. But he is very rich and handsome. But has no care for anyone else, maybe not including his parents…” She said very softly and stared down at her feet.

“Well, you are going to miss being pampered little lady? Don’t they do everything for you!” He said trying to hide his smirk. Belladonna stared down at him angrily, she would show him!

“Well, if you think I am so used to ‘palace life’, I am going to become a pirate then!” She exclaimed and stood proud without a look of fear on her face. She would show this man what she was made of! Horse riding was no easy sport!

He smirked, she would probably be begging him for mercy the next day. Which would be very amusing to watch. It did not hurt.

“Sure, I bet you are going to be begging on my knees! Well, change already you stink. Well, maybe that is because he dropped you in the ocean..but it is all good.” He said.

“Wait..where and what’s your name?” She asked.

“Just call me Dragon like everyone else. No Captain Dragon to you. You will be staying with me because the only person I really trust is Andre..” He said.

Belladonna sighed, she was not to keen on wearing men’s clothes. She took the smallest clothes he had went to the bathroom. She felt refreshed after her bath and her mind felt clearer. She had realized she had probably dropped her shirt outside. She guessed that..Dragon was somewhere else so she could go out without being noticed.

She tiptoed outside and picked up her shirt.

“What are you doing!” Dragon asked his face reddening.

Belladonna shrieked and jumped up trying to cover herself. Dragon snickered for a little while.

“Augh!” She exclaimed and put on her clothes in the bathroom.

“Are you ready to become a pirate!?” He asked hoping she would be whimpering in fear or some other girly thing like that.

“Of course! I am up for the challenge!” Belladonna replied her eyes shining and bright. She would show him!
